October 1 Protest: Sowore Stands Firm Amid Intimidation

As regards the October 1 nationwide protest, Omoyele Sowore, 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, remains resolute. Despite mounting pressure and intimidation, Sowore declared the protest will proceed as planned at Eagle Square.

A Call for Real Independence

October 1 marks Nigeria’s Independence Day, but Sowore’s movement seeks a new independence – freedom from internal colonizers, corruption, and mismanagement. “We’re fighting for a Nigeria where citizens are truly free,” he emphasized.

Defying Intimidation

As tensions rise, police intimidation and potential clashes loom. But Sowore remains steadfast, urging Nigerians to stand firm. “No amount of intimidation can stop us,” he vowed. “The people will prevail.”

An Ultimatum to the Government

With the clock ticking, Sowore issued a clear ultimatum: meet the protesters’ demands by October 1, 2024. The nation holds its breath, awaiting the outcome.

A Nation’s Cry for Change

Nigerians from all walks of life will converge on Eagle Square, demanding accountability, good governance, and economic reform. Will the government listen?

The Countdown Begins

As Nigeria stands at the crossroads, one question echoes through the streets: will the government heed the people’s call for change? Only time will tell.

Vanguard.
