Osun Varsity Bans Indecent Dressing, Threatens Expulsion

 

The University of Ilesa in Osun has prohibited students from wearing indecent attire on campus, warning that offenders may face expulsion.

 

Key Highlights:

1. Dress Code: Students are expected to dress modestly, avoiding exposure of body parts that may offend others.

2. Staff Directive: Staff members have been authorized to prevent improperly dressed students from attending lectures or entering offices.

3. Identity Cards: Students must wear their ID cards to avoid embarrassment by security personnel.

4. Disciplinary Measures: Involvement in cultism, bullying, hooliganism, harassment or other forms of indiscipline will attract serious sanctions.

5. Counseling and Rehabilitation: Students already part of outlawed groups are encouraged to renounce their membership and seek counseling.

 

The university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Taiwo Asaolu, emphasized the importance of discipline, orderliness and good character among students, stating that the institution will not award certificates to students lacking in these areas.
