Over 573,000 Nigerians Compete for 3,927 Customs Jobs

 

Over 573,000 Nigerians have applied for the 3,927 available positions in the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) recruitment exercise. This massive response highlights the intense competition for government jobs in Nigeria.

Here’s a breakdown of the applications received:

  • Superintendent Cadre: 249,218 applications for general duty positions and 27,722 for support staff roles, requiring HNDs or university degrees.
  •  Inspector Cadre: 115,634 applications for general duty positions and 12,952 for support roles, requiring National Certificate for Education (NCE) or National Diploma (ND).
  •  Customs Assistant Cadre: 153,593 applications for general duty positions and 14,400 for support staff roles, open to those with secondary school certificates.

The NCS National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, assured that the selection process would be fair, transparent, and based on merit and competence.
