Plateau Governor Offers Free Transportation for Christmas

 

In a bid to ease the economic burden on citizens during the Christmas and New Year festivities, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has announced free transportation services for residents within and outside the state.

The free transportation program, which commences on December 23, 2024, aims to cushion the effects of economic challenges faced by the people. According to the state Commissioner for Transport, Davou Gyang, the program will cover:

  1.  Intra-local Government travel: Free transportation within the 17 local government areas of the state.
  2. Inter-state travel: Free transportation to and from neighboring states, including Bauchi, Borno, Adamawa, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, and Jigawa.

Here are the key details of the program:

  1.  Schedule: The program will run from December 23 to 24, 2024, with extended routes and additional buses.
  2.  Assembly points: Passengers will assemble at designated points, including the Plateau State Polytechnic, for departure.
  3. Return trip: The return trip for inter-local government and inter-state travelers is scheduled for January 4-5, 2025.

Governor Mutfwang’s initiative aims to bring relief to the people of Plateau State during the festive season.
