To ensure a peaceful Christmas and New Year celebration, the Plateau State Police Command has imposed certain restrictions in specific local government areas from December 23, 2024, to January 3, 2025.
Restricted Activities:
1. Night Grazing: Prohibited for herders in Bassa, Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Bokkos, and Mangu LGAs from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.
2. Night Farming: Restricted for farmers in the same areas.
3. Late-Night Beer Parlour Operations: Banned.
4. Night Mining Activities: Not permitted.
5. Commercial Motorcycles (Okada): Operations banned.
6. Commercial Tricycles (Keke Napep): Totally banned within the Jos/Bukuru Metropolis on December 25-26, 2024, and January 1, 2025.
The Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, urges residents to comply with these restrictions and support security agencies in maintaining peace.

The Police Command has deployed personnel to flashpoints and is working closely with the military, other security agencies, and local security groups to safeguard the State and its borders during the festivities.

The Commissioner of Police appealed to residents to report any suspicious activities or persons to the nearest security agency, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in maintaining peace.
