Plateau State Violence: Gunmen Kill Three, Injure Two

By Ndujihe Clifford Chiebuka

On Wednesday, gunmen launched a deadly attack on Rakok village in Plateau State’s Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area, killing three youths and injuring two others.

The Berom Youths Moulders Association (BYM) strongly condemned the attack, urging security agencies to take decisive action against the perpetrators and address the ongoing violence and destruction of farm produce in the region.

“The recurring killings, ambushes, and assaults on women and destruction of crops by Fulani militants and criminal gangs must be stopped,” said Dalyop Mwantiri, BYM National President.

The association called on Operation Safe Haven to:

1. Investigate the attack and arrest the perpetrators.
2. Provide compensation for destroyed crops and stolen motorcycles.
3. Offer medical support to the injured.

The police and Joint Security Task Force Operation Safe Haven have yet to comment on the incident.

This attack is part of a larger pattern of violence in the region, highlighting concerns about safety and security.
