Police Neutralize Armed Robbers in Kebbi State

 

 

In a bold operation, the Nigerian Police Force, Kebbi State Command, has successfully neutralized a group of armed robbers in a forest within the state.

The incident occurred on December 9, 2024, around 5:00 PM, when a combined team of policemen and vigilantes from the Divisional Police Headquarters, Zogirma, were on routine patrol.

 

Upon encountering two suspected armed robbers, Gaboje Alhaji Bello and Wantude Alhaji Adure, in the Tilli/Durhella forest, the suspects opened fire, prompting an exchange of gunfire. Unfortunately, Gaboje was fatally shot, while his accomplice, Wantude, was apprehended.

 

The police recovered a locally-made pistol and one live cartridge from the scene. The Commissioner of Police for Kebbi State, CP Bello Sani, commended the officers for their bravery in combating crime, urging them to sustain their efforts in the fight against criminal activities.

 

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and legal proceedings. This operation demonstrates the police’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Kebbi State residents.
