Police Neutralize Secessionist Gang Members in Anambra

 

The Anambra State Police Command has successfully neutralized five suspected members of an armed secessionist gang during a raid on their camp in Ufuma, Orumba North Local Government Area. The operation, which took place on Tuesday, resulted in the recovery of several arms and incriminating items, including:

  • Four undetonated improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
  • Two AK-47 rifles
  •  One pump-action gun
  •  A 75-volt battery

The police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, attributed the success of the operation to effective coordination among the security agencies. The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, commended the collaboration and sought greater cooperation from residents to deny the criminal elements the space to operate.¹
