Police Rescue 59 Trafficked Children in Abuja

 

The Federal Capital Territory police command has rescued 59 children suspected to have been trafficked from Kano State. The children, aged between four and 12, were intercepted in a white Peugeot 15-seater bus along the Abuja-Kano route on January 6.

According to the FCT Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, preliminary investigations revealed that the children were being transported to Nasarawa State under the guise of receiving training. The driver, Ali Ibrahim, and his assistant, Alhassan Ibrahim, were apprehended on the spot.
