Pope Francis Warns of AI’s Dangers During Singapore Visit

Pope Francis has sounded a warning about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence (AI) during his visit to Singapore. The Pope emphasized the importance of using AI in a way that promotes human connection and understanding, rather than isolating individuals.

In a reception in the high-tech city-state, Pope Francis cautioned that AI should not be allowed to replace human relationships. He noted that technology developments risk creating a false reality and isolating people from one another.

Instead, the Pope argued that AI should be harnessed to bring people closer together and foster solidarity within society. He has previously called on world leaders to ensure that AI is developed and used responsibly.

The Pope’s visit to Singapore is the final stop on his 12-day tour of Asia, which has also taken him to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and East Timor. A large mass is expected to be held in a sports stadium, attracting around 50,000 people.
