Reckless Driver Flees After Killing Two on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Ogun State, Nigeria – A fatal accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Saturday, November 3, 2024, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including a driver and a passenger.

 

According to the Ogun State Police Command, the incident took place at approximately 11:23 p.m. in front of the NIPCO Gas Filling Station at Ibafo. The collision involved a Nissan Caravan commercial bus with the number plate DELTA AGB 840 ZT and an unidentified truck belonging to the Indomie company.

 

The truck driver, whose identity remains unknown, allegedly drove recklessly out of the NIPCO filling station, causing the commercial bus to crash into the truck. The bus driver and a passenger died instantly, while the truck driver fled the scene.

The police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the fleeing truck driver. The incident follows another fatal accident on November 1, 2024, along Ayetoro Road in Adehun, Abeokuta, which claimed three lives due to dangerous driving.
