The Nigerian film industry is mourning the loss of Shina Sanyaolu, a prominent producer and director in the Yoruba genre. The president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan, confirmed Sanyaolu’s passing through an Instagram post.
Although the cause and date of his death are unknown, colleagues and industry professionals have taken to social media to pay tribute to the late filmmaker. Veteran actor Jide Kosoko described Sanyaolu as a “beacon of kindness and warmth” who touched many lives positively. TAMPAN UK president Doyin Amodu also paid tribute, highlighting Sanyaolu’s unmatched love for the arts and support for the industry.
Sanyaolu contributed to the production of several movies, including “The Honourable,” “Two Wives,” and “Omo Olosan.” His legacy will be deeply missed, but his impact on the industry and those who knew him will be remembered.
