A road crash on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Friday morning killed six people and injured three others. The accident occurred at 7:40 am at Verony, Ogere, when a Toyota Sienna car rammed into a moving truck from the rear. The truck escaped from the scene.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident. Spokesman Florence Okpe said the speeding Sienna Space Bus lost control and collided with the truck, resulting in the fatalities.
The injured victims were taken to Patmag Hospital for treatment, while the corpses were deposited at FOS Morgue, Ipara.
The Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, described the crash as an avoidable act if proper caution had been taken by the driver. He urged motorists to always give maximum concentration to driving and obey all traffic rules.
