The Joint Task Force South-East, “Operation UDO KA,” has successfully neutralized 13 armed members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and arrested three kidnappers in the South-East region.
According to Lt. Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, the spokesman of the task force, the operation was conducted to ensure a safe and peaceful Yuletide season in the region.
Here are the key highlights of the operation:
- Ambush Operation: Troops conducted an ambush operation along Amouka-Umouka Road in 9th Mile, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, neutralizing one kidnapper and recovering an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 17 rounds of ammunition.

- Clearance Operation: Troops conducted a clearance operation within Mbosi and Isseke general areas in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra, neutralizing three IPOB members and recovering an AK-47 rifle, two loaded AK-47 magazines, and three Dane guns.
- Arrest of Kidnappers: Troops arrested three suspected kidnappers at Itungwa in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia, recovering an AK-47 rifle, a G3 rifle, a locally-made single-barrel pistol, and other ammunition.
The Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Hassan Dada, urged citizens to continue supporting the joint task force by providing timely and credible information to ensure a peaceful and secure environment in the South-East region.
