Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, was attacked by suspected thugs at the Lagos City Marathon on Saturday morning. The thugs also targeted crew members of Sowore’s media outfit and journalists covering the event, injuring many and destroying their cameras and gadgets.
Sowore was participating in the marathon when the attack occurred. A video of the incident shows the thugs physically assaulting Sowore, his crew members, and journalists, with one thug grabbing the neck of a journalist holding a camera.
This incident is currently under investigation, and more details are expected to emerge.
