Three Nigerian soldiers were killed in a recent attack by Boko Haram terrorists in the Kukawa Local Government area of Borno State. The attack occurred on Monday, November 25, 2024, and was repelled by troops of Operation Hadin Kai.

According to the Defence Headquarters, the terrorists launched the attack using gun trucks and motorcycles, and attempted to breach the camp using a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED).

However, the gallant troops responded with overwhelming firepower, killing 12 terrorists and recovering several items, including AK-47 rifles, RPG bombs, and motorcycles.

The acting Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Olufemi Oluyede, commended the troops for their courage and urged them to sustain the momentum.

The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in Nigeria’s northeastern region, where Boko Haram has been waging a decade-long insurgency.
