A 300-level student from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Christiana Idowu, who was kidnapped in Lagos, has been tragically murdered by her abductor. The suspect, who has been arrested, demanded a ransom of N1.5 million from Christiana’s parents and received N350,000 before killing her.
Intelligence agents tracked the abductor using the Bank Verification Number (BVN) and bank account information associated with the ransom payments. The suspect, who had a mutual relationship with Christiana on social media, was arrested at his parent’s house in Ikorodu.
Damning evidence, including Christiana’s phone and details of the money transferred, was found on the suspect’s phone. He confessed to killing Christiana and burying her in his house. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many Nigerians demanding justice for Christiana on social media using the hashtag #JusticeForChristianah.
