A devastating accident occurred on Saturday night along the Sagamu-Ikorodu Expressway, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving several others injured. According to Seni Ogunyemi, Commandant General of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, a DAF truck suffered a brake failure, causing it to collide with two cars from behind.
The impact of the collision forced the cars under another truck ahead of them, resulting in the tragic loss of life and multiple injuries.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and the presumed dead were taken to the General Hospital morgue in Ikorodu, while the injured were taken to the Health Centre in Ogijo.
The accident caused significant traffic congestion in the area, with TRACE operatives and police working to clear the scene. Tow services were contacted to evacuate the accident vehicles, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
