A horrific incident occurred on Monday at the Kara Cattle Market along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Isheri Olofin, Ogun State. An 80-year-old trader, Ladan Bature, was fatally stabbed during an argument.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect, Haiye Aginni, allegedly stabbed Bature with a knife in front of the Kara Market mosque. Despite efforts to rush him to the hospital, Bature was pronounced dead by a doctor.
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the suspect. The spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, stated that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
This tragic incident comes on the heels of another violent attack in the state, where a teenager allegedly stabbed his friend to death during a fight.
The community is still reeling from the shock of these incidents, and authorities are urging citizens to remain calm and vigilant.
