Tragedy Strikes in Kwara: Fire Burns 41-Year-Old Man to Death, Destroys Five Rooms

 

A devastating fire outbreak occurred in the early hours of Monday in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, claiming the life of a 41-year-old man and destroying five rooms in a residential building.

 

Here are the key details of the incident:

  •  The fire broke out around 2:00 a.m. at No. 158, Ile Alaparun, Alore area.
  • The Kwara State Fire Service reported that the fire was triggered by an explosion in a room containing flammable materials.
  •  Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was caused by “spontaneous ignition in a room storing combustible materials, including petrol, batteries, and a tire inflator engine.”
  •  The fire service was able to contain the blaze, but not before it destroyed five rooms and claimed the life of AbdulFatai, a 41-year-old man who was visiting a friend.
  •  The deceased’s body was handed over to his family after the firefighting operation.
