A devastating road accident occurred on the Ilesa/Akure expressway in Osun State, resulting in the loss of four lives and leaving 20 others injured. The crash, which involved three vehicles, was attributed to excessive speeding.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident, revealing that the accident happened near Ikeji-Arakeji, a town along the expressway. Among the injured were three National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.
FRSC Osun Sector Commander, Taofeek Sokunbi, emphasized the importance of safe driving practices, stating, “The accident was caused by excessive speed. We urge drivers to be cautious and avoid speeding.”
The accident occurred on Thursday, and the injured victims are receiving medical attention. The deceased were identified as three female adults and one male adult.
