A devastating road accident occurred on the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway on Sunday, resulting in the loss of two lives and injuring 10 others.
Accident Details
- Location: Ntigha junction axis of the expressway
- Time: 5:02 p.m. on Sunday
- Vehicle: Green-colored Toyota Hiace bus conveying 16 passengers
- Cause: Preliminary investigation suggests a burst tire
Response and Casualties
- FRSC response team arrived within five minutes of notification
- 10 injured (1 female, 9 males) taken to FMC
- 2 male adults died (1 on the spot, 1 at Central Medical Centre)

Sector Commander Mrs. Ngozi Ezeoma urged drivers to regularly check tires to prevent similar incidents. She sympathized with the injured and commiserated with the families of the deceased, reaffirming the command’s commitment to road safety.
