Troops Arrest Notorious Kidnap Kingpin, Recover Arms in Plateau Raid

 

 

Troops of Operation Safe Haven have successfully dismantled a kidnappers’ den in Plateau State, arresting notorious kingpin Mohammed Musa, also known as Mamman, and his accomplice, Mallam Alhassan Samaila.

The operation, conducted in the Rafiki community of Bassa Local Government Area, also yielded 439 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition concealed in a four-litre engine oil gallon.

1. Operation Details: The raid was part of efforts to ensure a secure harvest season and peaceful yuletide in Plateau and its environs.

2. Suspects’ Activities: Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects disguised themselves as transporters to smuggle ammunition to bandits operating in Plateau, Kaduna, and Zamfara states.

3. Follow-up Operations: Security agencies are conducting follow-up operations to apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate and recover more arms and ammunition.

4. Public Appeal: The task force appealed to the public to support security agencies with timely intelligence to help rid the area of criminal activities.
