The U.S. and Nigerian governments have signed a $2,095,000 grant to expand fiber optic infrastructure in Nigeria by 90,000 km. This grant, funded by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), aims to increase Nigeria’s broadband penetration from 42.27% to 70%.
The project aligns with Nigeria’s National Broadband Plan 2020-2025 and is expected to improve digital infrastructure and connectivity, essential for the country’s economic growth. The initiative will also support Nigeria’s broader goals of digital skills development and talent cultivation.
