Tragedy struck at the Ministry Church in Ejigbo, Lagos State, on Sunday, September 8, when a 55-year-old woman, Ifeoma, collapsed and died while sharing her testimony during the church service. According to eyewitnesses, Ifeoma was full of life and enthusiasm as she stepped forward to share her testimony, singing songs of gratitude and praise.
However, in a shocking turn of events, Ifeoma suddenly slumped on the altar, leaving the congregation in stunned silence. The church members and officials quickly rushed to her aid, administering first aid and calling for emergency services.
Despite their best efforts, Ifeoma was pronounced dead at the General Hospital in Isolo, where she was taken after being referred from a nearby hospital. The cause of death is not yet specified, but the incident has left the church community in shock and grief.
The Lagos Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that the church’s zonal accountant reported the matter to the police station. Hundeyin added that Ifeoma’s husband and family took her corpse to Anambra State for burial.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:48 am during the testimony hour of the church service, a time when members share their personal experiences and gratitude. The sudden and unexpected loss of Ifeoma has left the church community struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.
