“A recent incident occurred at the Fudiyyah Islamiyyah School mosque in Geidam, Yobe State, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to several others.
The mosque is affiliated with the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, led by Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky.
According to eyewitnesses, unknown attackers stormed the mosque around 4 a.m., killing three worshippers.
The incident follows recent actions by Nigerian authorities against the Islamic Movement, including a police order to arrest adherents of the group and raids on affiliated locations.
Sheikh Sidi Mainasara, speaking on behalf of the Islamic Movement, condemned the attack and vowed to take action against the perpetrators.
He also expressed concerns about a trend of targeting Muslim worshippers and mosques, citing previous incidents.”
