Yobe Police Detain Two Over Alleged Defilement of 12-Year-Old Girl

 

The Yobe State Police Command has detained two men for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Jalingo village, Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe. According to the command’s Spokesman, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the incident occurred on February 15 at around 3:30 pm.

The suspects allegedly lured the victim into a nearby bush and had carnal knowledge of her, inflicting serious injuries. The victim received immediate medical attention, while the suspects were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Damaturu for further investigation.

In a related development, the police also arrested three miscreants in Damaturu for allegedly being in possession of a stolen motorcycle. The suspects were found with the dismantled motorcycle and other items in an incomplete building in the Alimari Ward area.

Additionally, the police rescued a teenager from kidnappers in Dadawel, following a gun duel between the kidnappers and the police. The kidnappers fled, leaving behind the victim and other items, including a single-barrel gun.

The state Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed, commended the efforts of the command’s personnel and assured continued determination in fighting crime in the state.
